Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan are coming together again after 14 long years for the horror comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’. The film was earlier planned to release on April 3, 2025. But now, reports say that the makers have decided to postpone the release. A new release date will be announced soon.According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Akshay Kumar knows that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is expected to create a huge wave at the box office. He does not want his film to be released in the middle of that moment. He feels it is better to give space and let cinema breathe.
The same report says that the ‘Khiladi’ star has always been clear in his thinking. For him, it is never about ego. It is about smart decisions. He has seen how big releases affect smaller films. Reports say that he also remembers how the first part of ‘Dhurandhar’ suffered during its Christmas release with ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’. After talking to Ekta Kapoor, he felt delaying ‘Bhooth Bangla’ was the right move. Reportedly, Akshay Kumar has chosen to prioritize the collective success of the film fraternity over being the first to claim a release date. Following extensive consultations with the creators of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ that includes director Aditya Dhar and the team at Jio Studios, he has voluntarily opted to delay his film by eight to twelve weeks to ensure both projects have sufficient breathing room at the box office.
Twinkle Khanna’s sweet birthday moment
On the personal side, Akshay and Twinkle Khanna shared a lovely moment recently. Twinkle celebrated her birthday on December 29 with her family. Instead of a usual party, they visited the Musée du Parfum. There, they explored nearly 50 fragrances. They even created a custom scent together. Twinkle named it “Birthday Note.” She wrote, “This year instead of blowing out candles, my birthday celebration entailed a lot of sniffing around. The family took me to the Musée du Parfum. (sic)” Akshay also shared a fun photo. In it, Twinkle is seen playfully kicking him, while he laughs and holds her foot. He wrote, “Behind every action hero is a wife who can knock him out with one look, or one kick Mrs Funnybones, you still hit me harder than any stunt ever did.”Even with ‘Bhooth Bangla’ delayed, Akshay Kumar has a packed schedule. He is set to start shooting a new comedy film with Vidya Balan soon. Reportedly the shoot is expected to happen between January 15 and January 20. Akshay’s previous outing was ‘Jolly LLB 3’.
