Customers planning to visit their bank branches today will need to reschedule their work, as physical branches across the country are closed on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Banks in India remain open on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of each month, but the second and fourth Saturdays are uniformly observed as holidays. Since today falls on the fourth Saturday, branches will remain shut nationwide on 22 November. Many customers still rely on branch visits for cash deposits, withdrawals, cheque services, locker access, and other routine work. Those who usually keep such tasks for Saturdays are advised to plan their visits on the next working day to avoid delays, especially if they have cheque clearances, EMI submissions, or documentation due.Bank holidays are state-specific and notified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) under the Negotiable Instruments Act, but second and fourth Saturday closures apply uniformly across the country.Digital services, however, remain unaffected. Internet banking, mobile banking, UPI platforms, and ATMs will continue functioning without interruption. Customers can still carry out fund transfers, bill payments, balance checks, fixed deposit creation, and other online transactions. ATMs nationwide will operate as usual for cash withdrawals and mini statements. There are no remaining holidays in November apart from Sundays, according to the RBI’s holiday calendar.
