
China secured their 15th Suhandinata Cup victory at the BWF World Junior Championships 2025, defeating defending champions Indonesia on Saturday. India and Japan earned bronze medals as semi-final runners-up.The Chinese team, featuring three Asian Junior Championships gold medalists and two silver medalists, dominated Indonesia with a score of 45-30, 45-44 in a match lasting just over two hours.The first set saw a commanding performance from China after Asian junior girls’ doubles champions Cao Zi Han and Chen Fan Shu Tian narrowly beat Riska Anggraini and Rinjani Nastine 9-8. China went on to win all remaining matches in the set.The second set began with Indonesia taking an early lead of 9-5 through Riska and Rinjani. Chen Jun Ting and Cao recovered from a 8-13 deficit, securing 10 out of 11 points to lead 18-14.Asian Junior silver medalist Liu Si Ya faced tough competition from Thalita Wiryawan but maintained China’s lead at 27-24. Indonesia’s world junior number one Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah equalized at 27-27, with scores remaining close until 31-31.Liu Yang Ming Yu’s consistent performance helped China build a four-point advantage before the final doubles match. In the decisive game, Indonesia’s Alexius Subagio and Raihan Pramono reduced the deficit to 40-39 and earned a set point at 44-43.Chen Jun Ting and Liu Jun Rong maintained their composure to clinch the victory after forcing an Indonesian error. The BWF World Junior Championships will pause for a day on Sunday, with individual events for the Eye Level Cups commencing on Monday.
