He has been booked under BNS Sections 281 (rash driving), 109 (attempt to murder) and 125(a) (endangering human life). The court directed police to produce Anand before a competent court before the expiry of the remand period, and instructed that he be medically examined every 24 hours. On Thursday, the family of the injured, Kamal Dutta, moved him from GMC Jammu to Fortis Hospital in Punjab for specialised treatment, after his condition began deteriorating. The vehicle was impounded, and Jammu RTO cancelled its registration.
