Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for registration, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:Educational qualification
- For Unarmed Branch (UB): H.S. (Class 12) pass from a recognised board.
- For Armed Branch (AB): HSLC (Class 10) pass.
Age requirement
- Minimum age: 18 years (as of 1 January 2026)
- Maximum age: 25 years
Only candidates satisfying both education and age criteria will be eligible to apply.
Selection process: What aspirants should expect
Selection will occur through a multi-stage process, including:
- Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Written Examination (objective-type), with syllabus including arithmetic, reasoning/mental ability, general awareness (Assam-specific history/geography/politics/economy), general English. Question paper will be offered in Assamese, Bodo, Bengali or English.
- Academic score weighting (for UB candidates, based on higher secondary marks)
- Oral / Viva-Voce (as applicable)
The final merit list will be based on total marks across PET, written exam, academic score and viva-voice.
