
India batter Karun Nair is set to return to Karnataka colours after a two-season gap, having been named in the state squad for their Ranji Trophy opener against Saurashtra, beginning in Rajkot on October 15. Nair, who was recently left out of the Indian team for the home series against the West Indies, rejoined Karnataka ahead of this season after representing Vidarbha, where he played a vital role in their triumphant Ranji Trophy campaign last year. The experienced middle-order batter had earlier been named among the probables for the state side. Mayank Agarwal will continue to captain Karnataka, while the squad also features several new faces, including Kruthik Krishna, Shikhar Shetty, and Mohsin Khan. Meanwhile, Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain Rahul Dravid, will lead Karnataka in the upcoming Vinoo Mankad Trophy, which will be held in Dehradun from October 9 to 17.
