Wellington College International (WCI) Pune organised a special 3-day performance of the famous musical Annie Jr. from February 12 to 14 at the school’s auditorium on its campus in Pune. This joyful stage show is presented by WCI students from different year groups. The final show on Saturday, February 14, is open to the public.Annie Jr. is a happy and inspiring story about a young orphan girl named Annie. She lives in a strict orphanage run by Miss Hannigan. Annie dreams of finding her parents and having a loving family. During her journey, she meets new people, faces challenges with courage, and learns to stay hopeful even in difficult times. The musical teaches an important lesson – family is not only about where you are born, but about love, care, and kindness. Songs like “Tomorrow” and “Hard Knock Life” make the show fun and memorable for all age groups.Head of Music, Olav Hekala, said, “The students worked very hard for many weeks to prepare this musical. The show includes lively dance performances, beautiful songs, and confident acting by the students. Teachers and staff guided the children to help them learn stage skills, teamwork, and discipline. For many students, this is a chance to perform in front of an audience and build self-confidence.”The final show on Saturday, February 14, at 2 pm is free and open to the public. Families, students, and members of the public are welcome to attend and support the young performers. Hekala added, “This musical is suitable for children as well as adults. It is full of positive messages about hope, courage, friendship, and never giving up. The audience can expect a lively, heart-warming, and enjoyable experience. There is no dress code, but the cast reminds everyone that you are never fully dressed without a smile.”Annie Jr. promises to be a memorable event for Pune, bringing smiles, music, and inspiration to everyone who attends.
