Ranbir Kapoor, who has been juggling his time between sets, shooting for his magnum opus Bollywood films, took time out to make a special appearance at the Japan premiere of ‘Animal’. Almost a year after the film wreaked havoc at the box office and shattered several long-standing records, the actor, on Wednesday, joined director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for a virtual appearance at the film’s screening. Dressed in a special ‘Animal’ tee, Ranbir sat down for a candid chat with fans. Director Vanga, who is busy working on his next film ‘Spirit’, also joined the video chat. Thanking Japanese audiences and acknowledging their support for the film as it prepares for its theatrical release, Kapoor won hearts by extending a “Thank you” in Japanese. The cute clip soon went viral online with fans gushing over the thoughtful gesture.

After scoring a massive Rs 900 crore box office haul, ‘Animal’ is now set to release in cinemas across Japan. On January 26, the makers unveiled a new poster featuring Japanese inscriptions and released a trailer with Japanese subtitles. They shared the same in an official post that read, “A legacy of blood, love, and family. One of India’s most explosive action spectacles makes its way to Japan! ANIMAL will roar in Japanese theatres on 13 February 2026.”
‘Animal Park’ in the works
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Animal’ stars Ranbir in the lead role alongside Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. The film’s box office success set the ball rolling for a sequel titled ‘Animal Park’ that is also in the works. With its Japanese release locked for February 13, it remains to be seen if the film can now officially break into the Rs 1000 crore club.

Meanwhile, Ranbir has been keeping busy with his many film projects. The actor is currently adding the finishing touches to his romance film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali titled ‘Love and War’. The film will see him sharing screen space with wife Alia Bhatt and former ‘Sanju’ co-star Vicky Kaushal. He is also gearing up for the Diwali release of his mythological epic ‘Ramayana‘. The Nitesh Tiwari directorial will also star Sai Pallavi and Yash in lead roles.
