A complaint has been lodged with Puttenahalli police by South Bengaluru Care. Police are on the lookout for the accused, identified as Nepal Kiran.According to animal welfare volunteers, the incident came to light early on Jan 9 after a local dog feeder shared videos on a WhatsApp group. The feeder regularly cared for a litter of eight puppies in the area. While the body of one puppy was recovered, the remaining puppies are missing. The accused, who worked as a security guard at a restaurant in J P Nagar and stayed at his brother’s rented accommodation, is reportedly absconding following the incident. Manjari Chaitanya, founder of South Bengaluru Cares, said: “This is not about a neonate puppy who was brutally murdered, it is about the case of a psychopath who is a threat to the society.” Priyam Chhetri, another animal rights activist, demanded stern action against the accused.
