If it is 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi who is getting all the limelight because of his swashbuckling batting, the 17-year-old Rocky Flintoff, son of former England captain Andrew Flintoff, is also taking a giant stride.Fresh from scoring a century in the Youth ODI against India U-19, Rocky has joined Northern Superchargers in The Hundred through the wildcard draft. Rocky had scored a 91-ball 107, after Suryavanshi’s 78-ball 143 blitz. Rocky, who has never played a professional T20 match, will join the Superchargers, whose head coach is his father.Interestingly, the 17-year-old, the youngest in the wildcard draft, will be rubbing shoulders with England legend James Anderson, who has been selected by Manchester Originals.Anderson, 42, has signed a one-year deal to continue playing for Lancashire and has impressed in this year’s T20 Blast, his first T20 cricket in 11 years. This year’s Hundred will begin on August 5, with the final at Lord’s on August 31.
