Alia chose to watch it in theatre
In a chat with NDTV, Mohit Suri revealed that Alia Bhatt didn’t attend the film’s trial screening, but insisted on watching ‘Saiyaara’ in a cinema instead. “Yes, she went to watch it in the theatre. I was inviting her to a trial screening, but she said no, she would watch it in the theatre. After watching it in the theatre, she praised it a lot. She took the numbers of both actors and spoke to them,” he said.Alia was clearly touched by the film’s emotional tone. Suri added, “She also showed the film to Ranbir. Alia has been supporting this film from the beginning because she felt it carries the same emotional depth that I often infuse in my own films. She has been very supportive throughout my career, actually.”
Ranbir Kapoor called Suri with praise
It wasn’t just Alia who was moved by ‘Saiyaara’. Her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, also watched the film and quickly picked up the phone to call Mohit Suri. “Ranbir called me up and praised the film a lot. Unhone kaha ki abhi tujhe bahut filmein banani hai. Abhi thoda araam se kaam kar. Enjoy kar,” said Suri.
Alia Bhatt gushes on Instagram post
Alia didn’t stop at just calling the actors. She had also shared a heartfelt Instagram post, praising Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda for their work in ‘Saiyaara’. Her post read, “It’s safe to say…two beautiful, magical STARS are born @aneetpadda_ @ahaanpandayy — I don’t remember the last time I looked at two actors with such awe. With stars in my eyes… watching the stars in yours. You both shine with such individuality, such honesty — I could watch you again, and again, and again. (And let’s be honest… I probably will.) I’ve already gushed to you both individually — but clearly, once was not enough. So here I am. Gushing. Again.”

In the same post, Alia Bhatt also shared her love for Mohit Suri’s direction, music and the overall feel of the film. She wrote, “To the captain of this very wonderful ship @mohitsuri — what a film.
