Highlighting how beautifully and effortlessly Akshaye pulled off two very different characters, Preetisheel wrote, “Designing contrast is easy, making it believable is not. A single actor, stretched across timelines, temperaments, and histories.”Further, she praised how the actor understood the nitty-gritty of both characters, and even after being in the industry for so many years, didn’t fail to impress with his uniqueness. She mentioned, “A cold gangster in Dhurandhar. A restrained Mughal emperor in Chhaava. When Madhur Bhandarkar called Akshaye Khanna’s 2025 work brilliant
In a recent conversation with us, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also shared his admiration for Akshaye Khanna’s work in 2025 and said the actor was “absolutely brilliant in both films (‘Chaava’ and ‘Dhurandhar’). “It was a masterclass for any actor. The body language, the nuances, the kind of work he has done. Fab, fab, fab is an understatement. It’s brilliant. I really, really, really loved it,” added the ‘Fashion’ director.

The Aditya Dhar spy-thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ was 2025 one of the biggest box office blockbusters. The film, after a month of its release, has reached closer to the Rs 800 crore mark in India.
