
NEW DELHI: An Air India flight bound for Indore was forced to return to Delhi on Sunday shortly after take-off when the cockpit crew received a fire warning in one of the engines. Flight AI2913, had departed for Indore on 31 August but returned after a “fire indication” appeared for the aircraft’s right engine, according to news agency PTI. Air India said the crew followed standard procedure, shutting down the engine and safely landing the aircraft back in Delhi. No injuries were reported. The plane has been grounded for inspection and passengers are being transferred to another aircraft to continue their journey, the airline added.The air safety regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation has been duly informed of the incident, the airline said.
