Actress Ahaana Krishna has criticised the seating arrangement at the 55th State Film Awards presentation ceremony, as women awardees weren’t seen in the front row. The award distribution ceremony was held at Nishagandhi Auditorium in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, January 25.
Ahaana Krishna slams Kerala State Film Awards seating arrangement
In a note shared on her Instagram story, Ahaana Krishna congratulated the award winner; however, she also expressed her concern about the absence of any of the female award winners in the front row.
“Everything is great, and I’m extremely happy for the winners. But while watching this video, the seating of the winners made me feel rather uncomfortable,” Ahaana Krishna said, sharing the video. The ‘Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela’ actor further asked whether it was a ‘coincidence’ that women weren’t present in the front row. “Is it a coincidence that all the women are seated behind the 1st row?” she asked. The actor further added that a few of these women deserve to be seated in the front row. “A few of them clearly deserve to be seated in the 1st row.”Ahaana Krishna also admitted that she was initially hesitant to share her thoughts; however, felt compelled to speak up after feeling uneasy about what she saw. “I genuinely didn’t want to share this here. But I felt a certain sense of discomfort which I had to put out,” she said. Check out the post here.

Female award winners including Best Female Singer and Best Character Actress were seated in the second row at the event The Kerala State Film Awards is the most prestigious honours recognising exceptional talents in Malayalam cinema. Several dignitaries, including the Chief Minister, attended the grand ceremony held at Nishagandhi.
