Abhinav Kashyap has spoken out against Salman Khan several times. But interestingly, this time he took a dig not at Bollywood’s Bhaijaan, but at superstar Shah Rukh Khan. In a recent interview, the director of ‘Dabangg’ took a jibe at SRK and suggested that the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actor should move to Dubai. Kashyap criticised the superstar, claiming he “only takes” and gives nothing back to society.

Speaking to Bollywood Thikana, Abhinav said, “This community knows only to take, not to give. They only take, take, and take more. Shah Rukh Khan’s Dubai house is called Jannat, while the one here is called Mannat. What does that mean? All your mannatein (prayers) were answered here. He keeps making more prayers. I heard he is building two more floors on his bungalow. So the demands are increasing. But if your jannat (paradise) is there, go live there. What are you doing in India?”

Abhinav also targeted a famous line from Shah Rukh’s 2023 film ‘Jawan’, saying, “Then he says lines in films like, ‘bete ko haath lagaane se pehle baap se baat kar’. What do we talk to these people? They have created their palaces beyond the reach of the common man. What do I care what their net worth is? Do you give me food? Shah Rukh may be a well-spoken person but neeyat uski bhi gadbad hi hai (his intentions are also wrong).”
Who is Abhinav Kashyap?
Abhinav Kashyap, the brother of Anurag Kashyap, began as a screenwriter with ‘Jung’. He made his directorial debut in Bollywood with ‘Dabangg’, starring Salman Khan, which was a commercial success. He later directed ‘Besharam’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, but has not returned to directing since.
Shah Rukh Khan on the work front
Shah Rukh Khan recently won the Best Actor award at the 71st National Film Awards for ‘Jawan’. On the work front, he is preparing for the action thriller ‘King’, set to release in 2027. The film will see him reunite with director Siddharth Anand and co-star with his daughter, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan.
