
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his 125th birth anniversary on Sunday. CM Dr. Yadav offered floral homage and garlanded the life-size statue of Dr. Mukherjee located in the Arera Colony area of Bhopal. In the presence of the Chief Minister, a special program was held to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Mukherjee, who was born on July 6, 1901.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav recalled Dr. Mukherjee’s immense contributions to the nation during the tribute ceremony. He said that the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Dr. Mukherjee, was a true patriot and a visionary leader of robust nationalism who consistently lived for the nation’s cause.
CM Dr. Yadav said, “Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was not just a politician but a farsighted national hero. His life is an inspiration of patriotism, self-sacrifice, and service. He powerfully voiced the sentiments of the Indian people before the then government”.
The Chief Minister emphasised Dr. Mukherjee’s famous slogan —“Ek desh mein do Vidhan, do Pradhan, aur do Nishan nahin chalenge” (There cannot be two constitutions, two prime ministers, and two flags in one nation)—as a defining moment in strengthening the foundation of India’s national unity.
CM Dr. Yadav further said that Dr. Mukherjee was a strong proponent of India’s cultural and social unity and provided new ideas and direction to bind the nation together. “His ideas and values must be imbibed. Today, to build a stronger, more harmonious and self-reliant India, his thoughts are even more relevant. He stated, the nation will forever remain indebted to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee”. Member of Parliament from Bhopal Shri Alok Sharma also addressed the gathering and shared his views.
The event was attended by Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang, Khajuraho MP Shri Vishnu Dutt Sharma, MLA Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani, former Union Minister Shri Suresh Pachouri, Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, former MP Shri Alok Sanjar, social worker Shri Ravindra Yati, Shri Rahul Kothari, along with several public representatives and citizens.
