Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that India’s culture carries a proud and ancient legacy of social harmony and knowledge. From revered saints like Sant Ravidas, Kabir, and Lord Gautam Buddha to various sages and great personalities, the spirit of harmony has always guided our civilization. It is this legacy that laid the foundation for truth, goodness, and humanity in our country. Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar further strengthened this tradition by advocating for social equality and incorporating the principle of equal rights for all in the Constitution.
The Chief Minister was addressing the “Social Harmony Conference” held on Saturday at the Datto Pant Thengadi Auditorium of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University in Gwalior. He said it is a matter of joy that a new dawn of social harmony is emerging from the sacred soil of Gwalior, which will further strengthen an atmosphere of unity and brotherhood across the state.
CM Dr. Yadav, Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, along with other dignitaries, honored eminent personalities from different communities with the “Samrasata Samman.” Beneficiaries who have become self-reliant by availing government schemes were also felicitated. The program concluded with a pledge for social harmony and a community meal.
CM Dr. Yadav emphasised that to remain strong and united, it is essential to eliminate discrimination. Our culture makes no distinction between the rich and the poor when it comes to wisdom. Recalling the friendship between Lord Krishna and Sudama during the Mahabharata era, he said it remains a unique example of love and humility in the world.
CM Dr. Yadav quoted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s famous words: “The world gave Yudh, India gave the Buddh.” He said it is a matter of national pride that the path shown by Lord Gautam Buddha has become one of the largest religions in the world today, symbolizing peace and compassion.
The Chief Minister invoked the teachings of Sant Kabir, quoting the famous doha:
“Jati na pucho sadhu ki, pooch lijiye gyan; mol karo talwar ka, pada rehne do myan.”
He also recalled how sages like Ashtavakra, Adi Shankaracharya, and later saints like Ramanujacharya enlightened society with devotion and knowledge, setting the tone for India’s inclusive and philosophical traditions. Dr. Yadav said, “Jat Pant Pooche Na Koy, Hari Ko Bhaje So hari Ko Hoy”
Rs. 12 Crore Sanctioned for Second Phase of Ambedkar Dham
The Chief Minister announced that Rs. 12.16 crore has been approved for the second phase of construction of Ambedkar Dham in Jaurasi village, Gwalior. The 50,000 sq. ft. complex will feature a museum, library, and auditorium and will serve as a center for future social harmony events.
Union Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia said that social harmony runs in our veins and the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” is deeply rooted in our ethos. He praised CM Dr. Yadav for promoting both development and harmony.
Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar stated that India’s glorious past and the values of unity given by our ancestors will keep the nation unbreakable. He emphasized the ideal of “Nar sewa hi Narayan sewa” as the soul of Indian culture.
Former Minister Shri Lal Singh Arya highlighted that the Sanatan tradition has always advocated for social harmony, citing examples from the lives of Swami Vivekananda, Maharana Pratap, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Sant Ravidas, Meerabai, and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay.
State Information Commissioner Shri Umashankar Pachauri said that CM Dr. Yadav’s initiative from Gwalior has sent a powerful message of harmony across the state and the country.
Honoured at the Event
CM Dr. Yadav honored Shri Satendra Singh Lohia (Padma Shri and international para-swimmer), Shri Manish Kumar (Vikram Awardee and international para-arm wrestler), Shri Sudhir Rao Durape (known as “Blood Man”), Ms. Sonia Kumre (talented hockey player), Shri Ratiram Suman (who pledged to donate his body) and Sarpanch Geeta Bai Yadav (recharged 10 farm ponds and 5 wells under Jal-Ganga Abhiyan in Basodi village) with Samrasata Samman for their exceptional contributions.
Distribution of Welfare Benefits
Under the PMEGP scheme, beneficiaries Smt. Rekha Khemariya –Rs. 9.4 lakh, Shri Devendra Rathore – R37.5 lakh and Shri Nagarjun – Rs. 25,000 received the assistance.
The event was attended by District In-Charge and Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Ministers Shri Narayan Singh Kushwah and Shri Pradhuman Singh Tomar, MP Shri Bharat Singh Kushwah, former Ministers Smt. Maya Singh, Smt. Imarti Devi, and Shri Ramniwas Rawat, former MPs Shri Vivek Narayan Shejwalkar, Shri Ashok Argal, and Dr. Bhagirath Prasad, Shri Mohan Singh Rathore, along with other MLAs and public representatives were present.
