Karwa Chauth is a traditional Hindu festival which is celebrated mainly by married women in North India, mainly in Punjab, Haryana, and other states. However, over the years this festival has gained much popularity and it is now celebrated by women in other states too. Karwa Chauth falls on the fourth day after the full moon in the month of Kartik, as per the Hindu lunar calendar; this usually falls in October or November in the Gregorian calendar. This year, Karwa Chauth tithi begins on October 9 at 10:54 PM and it ends on October 10 at 7.38 PM. On this day, married women observe a strict fast from sunrise to moonrise for the long and healthy life of their husbands. Women refrain from food and water, as a mark of their love and devotion. In modern times, many husbands too keep a fast along with their wives to show their love, respect, and support for their spouse. This also shows how beautifully this traditional festival has evolved in modern times, where respect and equality are the foundation for many marriages. How is Karwa Chauth celebratedThe festival begins with women performing pre-dawn rituals, known as Sargi, which includes eating a meal prepared by their mother-in-law before sunrise. Throughout the day, women dress in vibrant clothes, often red or bridal hues, and adorn themselves with jewelry and henna. They gather in the evening for a puja (prayer ceremony), listening to the Karwa Chauth story and performing rituals together, invoking blessings for their husbands’ long life. The fast concludes after sighting the moon. Women view the moon through a sieve or cloth, offer prayers, and then their husbands offer them water and food to break the fast. Karwa Chauth is not only a spiritual observance but also a celebration of marital love, family bonds, and tradition, making it one of the most cherished festivals among married women. On this occassion, here we list some neautiful images that can be shared, wishes, messages, quotes, pictures and greeting cards for Whastsapp sharing and status:

Karwa Chauth, one of the most cherished festivals among married women, is more than just a ritual—it’s an act of deep faith and devotion. On this day, women fast from sunrise to moonrise, praying for the long life and prosperity of their husbands. The day carries immense emotional significance, symbolizing sacrifice, love, and the invisible strength that often sustains a marriage. In US-Canada Karwa Chauth will be observed on October 9 this time. But while women observing the fast for their husbands is the norm, it wouldn’t hurt if the men could at least respect their devotion and act of love. Women put in effort, patience, and heart not for themselves, but for the well-being of someone else. The least that men and families can do is to reciprocate this spirit with respect, empathy, and gratitude. Whether you’re observing the fast or not, your behavior can make a world of difference in how meaningful the day feels for the woman keeping it. Here’s how you can do your part with grace and understanding.
