Years later, Saif Ali Khan has looked back at that chapter, including the moment he decided to etch Kareena Kapoor’s name permanently on his arm.During a candid conversation on Twinkle Khanna and Kajol’s talk show Two Much, the episode turned nostalgic as Saif, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle, and Kajol swapped stories from their personal and professional journeys.
Akshay recalls astrologer’s prediction about Saif and Kareena’s wedding
Recalling those early days, Akshay revealed that he and Twinkle were present when an astrologer predicted Saif’s marriage to Kareena. “There was an astrologer who predicted his marriage to Kareena, and she (Twinkle) was also there to see it,” he said. Twinkle chimed in, teasing Saif, “We were all there when this was going on, and you went ahead and got her name tattooed on your arm. That was a bit reckless.”Saif admitted that his decision wasn’t impulsive in his mind. “I was pretty sure that this is it, in that sense,” he said. “See, I wanted a tattoo, and I decided that I am going to get one on my shoulder. I was wondering what I should get, and I was talking to her about it, and before I knew it, I had got a tattoo of her full name on my arm. I wanted something subtle on my shoulder.”Twinkle then brought up Akshay’s role in spotting the early signs of the relationship, asking if he was the first to know. Saif laughed, “Well, I wouldn’t be surprised.” Akshay recalled, “I used to get up early and saw him heading somewhere. I asked, ‘What the hell are you doing?Where are you going?’”
Saif opens up about how his unexpected romance with Kareena began
Looking back, Saif said the relationship happened when he least expected it. “Honestly, I had no idea. When I went to Ladakh, I told myself I didn’t want a relationship — it was time to focus on work and be single. We used to go on long walks, and she’d ask me questions about love. Then one day we came back to her room, and I thought she was going to invite me in for further conversation — and her hairdresser opened the door. She went and hid behind her,” he shared with a laugh. As the group laughed, Twinkle wrapped up the moment with a quip that perfectly summed up their personalities: “So one husband keeps it private, and one treats his body like a billboard with tattoos.” Akshay quickly fired back, “But I have your name tattooed as well.”
