Now, the director Bhanu Bhogavarapu, along with the film’s lead stars, addressed the criticism. In a recent media interaction, they clarified that the criticism stems from misunderstanding the song’s cultural and situational context.During an interview with host Suma, Bhanu Bhogavarapu said that some people are calling other films bold, but when it comes to his films, they are having issues. He said, “In our villages, during local fests, people narrate cheeky stories that might sound abusive. But in reality, they are not abusive.”The filmmaker explained that the song reflects the rustic humour and festive energy of village celebrations and it is not meant to offend but to entertain with local flavour.
Sreeleela on the lyrics of ‘Ole Ole’
Sreeleela, who plays the female lead, backed her director and co-star, saying, “Those lines are apt for the moment.” The actress emphasized that the lyrics align perfectly with the story’s tone and the characters’ emotions. In another interview, she also shared her comfort level working with Ravi Teja, noting that she feels “satisfied and confident” while performing their combination scenes.
Ravi Teja calls for perspective
Ravi Teja said during the interview that people are reacting only to the opening lines and not the fun that follows it. He added that some English words people use every day are far worse. According to the superstar, the audiences only has issue when such abusive words are in Telugu. The actor urged viewers to withhold judgment until they watch the full sequence in the film.
