Konkona Sensharma, known both as an actress and filmmaker, debuted as a director with the praised thriller ‘A Death In The Gunj’ in 2017, which starred Vikrant Massey, Tillotama Shome, and Kalki Koechlin, among others. She then moved on to direct ‘The Mirror,’ a short story segment in the 2023 anthology film ‘Lust Stories 2’. Now, Konkona is preparing to take on a new project, shifting to long-form storytelling by directing a comedy series set in South Delhi.Project details and collaborationAccording to Peeping Moon reports, the project is in the casting phase with filming likely set to start either this December or early next year, depending on when the lead actors are available. The series will be co-directed by Konkona and Jaydeep Sarkar, who previously directed the anthology ‘Feels Like Ishq’ and OTT project ‘Rainbow Rishta’.Recent acting roles and upcoming projectKonkona’s latest appearance was in Anurag Basu’s film ‘Metro…In Dino,’ where she shared the screen with actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta. She is now set to star in the eagerly awaited crime thriller ‘Search: The Naina Murder Case’, directed by Rohan Sippy, which will stream on OTT from 10th October 2025. The series unravels a tense murder case that shakes a community to its core, exposing hidden secrets and political intrigues. Konkona plays the role of ACP Sanyukta Das, a seasoned police officer who gets pulled back into a critical investigation just as she plans to step away and focus on her personal life. The ensemble cast also features Surya Sharma, Shiv Pandit, Varun Thakur, Dhruv Sehgal and Shraddha Das.
