
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 has struck the Indian box office with a thunderstorm as with just a 3 day collection the film has reached the position of 11th biggest hit of 2025. The film , a sequel to 2022 blockbuster hit Kantara released on 2nd October with a record collection of Rs 61.85 crore making it the third biggest day 1 collection of the year. The film on day 2 witnessed a small drop but still managed to mint Rs 46 crore and on day 3 the film went on to collect Rs 55 crore as per early estimates by Sacnilk, taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 163.85 crore and with that the film has become the 11th biggest hit of the year going past Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly which collected Rs 153.77 crore from its lifetime theatrical run.
With just 3 days collection Rishab’s film has gone past titles like Dulquer Salmaan and Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah: Chapter 1- Chandra , Ram Charan’s Game Changer and Mohanlal’s Thudarum. The trade is expecting Sunday collection to match if not surpass it’s 1st day collection and if that happens the film will break into the Top 7 biggest grossers of the year. Once it enters the Top 7 list , it will thereby challenge films like Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2, Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Mahavtar Narsimha to break into Top 5a. Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 also featured Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah and Jayaram in leading roles.The makers with the climax of Kantara 2 have announced the third installment in the Kantara series. But it will be a while before Rishab turns back to the film as he already has Hanu-man sequel with Prashanth Verma and Tejja Sajja and he also has Shivaji Maharaj’s biopic in the pipeline.
