
Kantara Chapter 1 shows no signs of slowing down at the box office. The Rishab Shetty film continued its strong performance on Saturday after a successful first two days. It has already become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year, even before completing its opening weekend.
Day-wise earnings in India
Kantara Chapter 1 had earned Rs 107 crore net in India by Friday, including a strong Dussehra opening of Rs 61.85 crore and Rs 46 crore on Friday. The film kept up its momentum on Saturday, adding Rs 55 crore net, according to Sacnilk, bringing its three-day domestic total to Rs 162.85 crore.
Breaking Kannada film records
On Friday, the film became the highest-grossing Kannada release of the year, surpassing Su From So’s lifetime collection of Rs 92 crore net. On Saturday, Kantara Chapter 1 continued its record-breaking run, overtaking the lifetime collections of Salman Khan’s Sikandar (Rs 110 crore) and Ram Charan’s Game Changer (Rs 131 crore). It also crossed the Rs 150 crore mark, becoming only the fourth Kannada film to achieve this milestone.
Overseas success
Kantara Chapter 1 has also done well overseas, earning over $2.5 million (around Rs 22 crore) in international markets in its first two days.
