Soap is the classic choice. From neem and sandalwood bars passed down by our dadi-nani to modern glycerin-enriched varieties, soaps have been part of daily life for generations. They’re simple, long-lasting, and easy to use.
Most bar soaps work by breaking down oil, dirt, and bacteria on the skin. Many are made with cleansing agents called surfactants, which lift away impurities when mixed with water. Traditional soaps often have a higher pH, which can sometimes leave the skin feeling tight or dry. But modern formulations – think glycerin-based, moisturising bars, or handmade organic soaps, are much gentler and often infused with nourishing oils and butters.
Another big plus is that soaps tend to last longer than body washes. One bar can easily stretch out for weeks, and with minimal packaging, they’re eco-friendly too.
