
NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old sewadar at Kalkaji Temple in southeast Delhi has died after being attacked by a group of visitors during a dispute over “Chunni Prasad”.Yogendra Singh, who had served at the temple for around 14–15 years and was originally from Fattepur in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, was reportedly attacked by 10–15 visitors on Thursday evening. There were 10–15 people. They had iron rods and sticks, and they beat him to death. The deceased’s name is Yogesh. They were asking for prasad, and Yogesh asked them to wait for a few minutes, after which they started threatening him.”“Whenever these people came to the temple, they came with an aggressive attitude and expected us to give them whatever they wanted,” Raju added.An FIR has been registered under Sections 103 (murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Kalkaji police station.
