
Asif Qureshi, the cousin brother of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, was stabbed and killed on Thursday night in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area, following a verbal altercation over a parking space. According to reports, the incident occurred at around 10 pm in the Bhogal Bazaar Lane of Jangpura, when Asif asked two boys to move their scooter, which had been parked in front of his entrance. According to IANS, the two men, identified as Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18), initially left the scene but returned with a poker and stabbed Asif. Both the accused have been arrested and the murder weapon has also been seized, police said. A case under sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Hazrat Nizamuddin police station and investigations into the matter are ongoing. According to reports, both accused were residents of the locality and lived just a few houses away from the victim’s residence, police said.The officials stated that the dispute quickly escalated rather quickly and Asif was stabbed during the confrontation. “Further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and the role of each accused in the assault,” said the officer to PTI.Shaheen Asif Qureshi, the wife of the deceased, spoke to the media and recalled the horrifying incident. “My husband has been deliberately killed,” she told reporters. “At around 9:30-10 pm, a neighbour parked a scooter right outside our house. Asif requested him to move it, but the man abused him and threatened to return.”According to NDTV, she added that she called her brother-in-law, but by the time he arrived, Asif had already lost a lot of blood. “We rushed him to National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, but the doctors declared him brought dead. They said he had died about an hour and a half ago,” she said.The body has been sent for post-mortem, and the investigation continues.
