In a heartwarming interaction on Saturday, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai sat among young schoolchildren inside a newly inaugurated smart classroom at Bagia High School in Kansabel block, Jashpur district.
Participating in the launch of the Sampark Smart School initiative, the Chief Minister took time to sit with students from classes III and IV, warmly inquiring about their studies and daily routines.
He gently asked third-grader Dolly Gupta her name and her village, affectionately patting her head as he said, “You must study well… and don’t spend too much time on the mobile.” Addressing all the children, he encouraged them to stay focused on learning and limit screen time.
The state government, in partnership with the Sampark Foundation, is implementing the Sampark Smart School–Smart Block programme across 50 primary schools in Jashpur. The initiative aims to elevate the standard of government schools to surpass that of private institutions while significantly improving classroom learning outcomes.
Under this project, Sampark Foundation will provide free television sets and Smart School kits to all participating schools. The move is expected to directly benefit around 3,200 children. Additionally, 120 teachers will be equipped with modern teaching-learning materials and trained in innovative pedagogical methods.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sai lauded the programme, emphasising that “our goal is to enhance children’s learning abilities. The Smart Schools, Smart Blocks initiative will make teaching and learning simpler and more engaging.” He added that the project would help cultivate scientific temper among students and equip teachers with structured, global-standard teaching practices.
“These resources are aligned with the objectives of the SCERT and the national NIPUN Bharat Mission,” he noted, highlighting the government’s commitment to foundational literacy and numeracy.
