The actor has won the Best Actor honour for his performance in the film ’12th Fail.’ Now, Massey stated how grateful he is to share the award with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who bagged the title for his blockbuster movie, ‘Jawan.’

In his official statement, Vikrant Massey first thanked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the NDFC, and the jury of the 71st National Film Awards for recognising his performance.The statement further read, “I also want to thank Shri Vidhu Vinod Chopra ji for giving me this opportunity.” Expressing his inner feelings, he added, “Today, if I may say so, a 20-year-old boy’s dream has come true.”Vikrant Massey then expressed gratitude towards audiences for appreciating his performances and recommending the movie “With Such Love.”The actor will be sharing the award with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who received the honour for his massy performance in ‘Jawan.’ On the same, Vikrant shared, “It is a privilege to be sharing my first National Award with an icon like Shah Rukh Khan.”At the end of his statement, the actor shared that he will be dedicating the award to all “the marginalised people in our society,” who are fighting socio-economic paradigms of the nation every day.

While Shah Rukh Khan and Vikrant Massey bagged the Best Actor award, Rani Mukerji was announced as the Best Actress for her film ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway.’ ‘Kathal: A Jackfruit of Mystery’ won the Best Film (Hindi) Award. Meanwhile, Shilpa Rao was named as the Best Female Playback Singer for ‘Jawan.’ ‘The Kerala Story’ has been honoured in the category of Best Cinematography.
