Buying an electric two wheeler in India is no longer seen as a risky or uncertain choice. Over the last five years, the e2W market, led largely by electric scooters, has seen strong growth, with most major players now firmly established. With confidence in the segment rising, manufacturers are preparing to take the next step by entering the electric motorcycle space. In this direction, Hero MotoCorp and TVS Motor Company have filed design patents in India for their upcoming electric bikes, indicating that launches could be closer than expected. Here’s what we know so far.
Hero MotoCorp electric bike design patent: Key details
While neither company has officially confirmed timelines, the filings offer a clear look at what their future electric motorcycles might bring.Hero MotoCorp is preparing to widen its electric portfolio under its EV brand Vida. The company has filed a design patent in India for the Vida VXZ, a model that was first showcased at EICMA 2025 in Milan. The motorcycle has been co-developed with Zero Motorcycles.
The patented design shows the Vida VXZ with a sporty, streetfighter-inspired stance and a pronounced mass-forward look. The motorcycle has a hunched riding posture, sharp tank extensions and a compact, upswept tail section with a split-seat setup. The tank-like structure appears to house components such as charging hardware or storage. The VXZ seems to use a partially exposed tubular trellis frame. Suspension duties are handled by upside-down front forks and a centrally mounted rear monoshock. Braking hardware includes disc brakes at both ends. A centrally mounted battery pack sits within the frame, though Hero MotoCorp has not revealed any details about battery capacity, motor output or range yet. Other visible elements include a sharp LED headlamp, a fully digital instrument cluster and a small semi-fairing.
TVS electric bike design patent: Key details
TVS Motor Company is also moving in the same direction. The company has filed a design patent in India for its first electric motorcycle, called the eFX 3O. This model was earlier shown as a concept at EICMA 2025.From the patent images, the TVS eFX 3O looks aggressive and performance-oriented, with a streetfighter-style design. It features a forward-leaning stance, a bulky front section and a sharp, minimalist tail. The concept showcased internationally wore a matte grey finish with contrasting yellow highlights. The large battery casing on the eFX 3O features horizontal cooling fins, while the motor is mounted low and centrally within the frame. Suspension components include USD front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking appears to be handled by petal discs on both wheels. A compact rectangular TFT display is mounted above the handlebars, and while TVS has not confirmed features, it is expected to offer basics such as Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support and multiple ride modes. At present, TVS has not disclosed any technical specifications related to power output, battery size or real-world range.
