His knock was studded with four boundaries and four sixes, underlining his growing reputation as one of the tournament’s most destructive batters.The Rajasthan Royals teen prodigy carried that momentum into a remarkable innings at Queen’s Cricket Club in Bulawayo, smashing the joint second-fastest half-century of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 in the Super Six Group 2 match against the hosts. Sooryavanshi brought up his fifty in only 24 balls before departing for 53, continuing his impressive run in the competition.His half-century equalled the joint fastest fifty alongside India Under-19 captain Ayush Mhatre, who had also reached the milestone in 24 balls during India’s last league match against New Zealand. The 14-year-old’s innings against Zimbabwe featured four sixes and four fours, highlighting his clean striking and composure beyond his years. So far, Sooryavanshi has scored 166 runs in four matches at an average of 41.50, emerging as a key contributor to India’s campaign.Sooryavanshi has been retained by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
