NEW DELHI: A chilling confession video has emerged following the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man at a cafe in northeast Delhi’s Maujpur area. Faizan, also known as Fazzi, was shot dead late on Friday night. The incident was reported at around 10.28 pm at a cafe in the Welcome area.“A PCR call was received regarding a firing incident at the location. A police team rushed to the spot and found a man lying injured,” a senior police officer said.Faizan was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, police said.Soon after the killing, a video surfaced on social media in which a man, believed to be the suspect, claimed responsibility for the shooting. In the clip, the man said the killing was driven by a personal grudge and denied any involvement of his family or friends.“I killed Faizan over a personal grudge. My father had no role in this, nor did my family or friends have anything to do with it. I did not kill him on anyone’s say-so, and there was no money involved. He had assaulted months ago, so I shot him dead,” he said in the video. The suspect also dismissed claims made by Faizan’s brother, Salman, that the dispute was related to money.Faizan’s brother, Salman, alleged that the murder followed a prolonged dispute and accused both the suspect and his father of involvement.“My brother was shot three times, but the police said that two magazine rounds were fired. One bullet hit him in the head and went right through. Two bullets hit him in the chest. He was also probably stabbed. He had cuts on his hands, so he must have struggled a lot. My brother was 24 years old. He was a very simple man,” he said.“He had taken out a loan. When he couldn’t repay it, the father and son came to our house and started fighting. We had even filed a complaint at the Bhajanpura police station, but nothing happened. We just want justice. We want both the father and son to be arrested, and the strictest possible action taken against them. The police say they are on the run,” Salman told reporters.Police said a crime team and officials from the forensic science laboratory (FSL) examined the scene and collected physical and scientific evidence.“A crime and forensic science laboratory (FSL) team inspected the scene and is collecting physical and scientific evidence,” the officer said.A case has been registered under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with relevant sections of the Arms Act at the Welcome police station.Preliminary investigations suggest that the firing took place inside or in the immediate vicinity of the cafe. Police said they are examining CCTV footage from the cafe and nearby areas to identify the accused and reconstruct their movements before and after the incident.Teams have been deployed to conduct raids at suspected locations, while local informers have been activated to gather leads. Police are also questioning cafe staff and others present at the time of the shooting.Further investigation is under way.
