Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi, who have been together for close to 38 years serve couple goals. As fans now get a glimpse into their life with their vlog, they love their family bonding. Recently, the couple revisited their love story in a new video on Archana’s YouTube channel. They were quite honest and candid about their relationship as they revealed that they went out on a date and their relationship started as a one-night stand soon. However, from there, it evolved into something far more lasting. Recalling their early days, they shared how quickly they became inseparable, to the point where Parmeet once abruptly cut short a family vacation just to rush back to be with Archana. The two revealed that they first crossed paths at a friend’s house in 1988, but it was later that night, when they went clubbing with the same group, that they truly began talking. The following day, Archana found herself waiting for his call and he did call. From then on, their conversations became a regular affair. Looking back, Parmeet said, “This was meant to be a fling, a one-night stand,” to which Archana added, “Very casual.”
Explaining the context, Archana shared, “I had just broken up with my ex and he had broken up with his ex and both of us were in a rebound phase. People say rebound relationships don’t last but we are proof that these relationships can work. Something that was supposed to be a one-night stand, a fling, a casual affair… We told each other very clearly that this won’t be serious.” Parmeet chimed in, reminding her that they would often reassure each other daily that their relationship wasn’t serious. At the time, Archana had already appeared in the 1987 film Jalwa and enjoyed considerable popularity. Parmeet recalled feeling intimidated by her stardom, saying she was “hot and happening then” and admitting he thought she was “completely out of my league. I was from a middle-class family, and you had just done Jalwa.” He added, “I didn’t know that someone like you would ever say yes to me.”Archana also reminisced about Parmeet’s romantic gestures during the early phase of their relationship. He would regularly bring her three red roses and say ‘I love you’ while pointing at each one. Laughing about it now, Parmeet confessed, “I didn’t have money either so I would borrow money from her to buy her roses.” Archana recalled eventually telling him to stop when the borrowing became routine. “When he started doing it regularly, and continued borrowing from me, I told him, ‘Let it be now… Stop buying roses’ and he wondered, ‘Do you want to stop our love?’”Sharing another memory from those initial months, Archana spoke about an awkward yet amusing moment when Parmeet accidentally took his ex-girlfriend’s name while expressing his love. “You were in my kitchen and you were talking about roses, or talking about love or something and you said, ‘Parmeet and dash’s jodi will always be there’ and the dash you said was not my name, that was your ex-girlfriend’s name,” she recalled. Parmeet appeared genuinely stunned, having completely forgotten the incident.Archana clarified that she wasn’t upset by the slip-up, given the circumstances. “I take everything with some sense of humour. I am a very secure person 99 percent of the time so I didn’t fight with him but I told him that you took your ex’s name. I remember this. I didn’t take it badly because I knew that you meant me but you had been with her for 4 years, and you had been with me for 4 months. Obviously you took her name by chance,” she said.
