A vehicle from Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s security entourage was reportedly involved in an accident in Mumbai’s Juhu area, late Monday night. The accident caused by a collision reportedly left an autorickshaw driver injured and in need of medical care.While the accident is still under investigation, the police have issued statements and clarified details about the incident. About the accident
According to the police, the accident occurred on Monday night around 8.30-9 pm near Mukteshwar Road in Juhu. News reports PTI and ANI report that a speeding Mercedes car allegedly hit an autorickshaw, causing the three-wheeler to ram into a car that was a part of Akshay’s convoy.Videos from the accident site soon went viral online with clips showing the auto completely smashed while another car was turned over to its side. Locals and bystanders were seen rushing to help people in the vehicle while others assisted the local fire brigade and police in helping put the car upright.
Autorickshaw driver injured
As per the reports, the autorickshaw driver sustained injuries in the collision and was immediately rushed to a hospital. As per ANI, his brother indicated that he was ‘serious’. In a statement to the portal, he put out a plea saying, “My brother’s rickshaw was completely destroyed. His condition is serious. Our only request is that my brother gets proper medical treatment, the required medicines, and compensation is provided for the damaged rickshaw.”
Case registered
The Juhu police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the Mercedes car driver. Further investigation is currently underway.
Akshay Kumar yet to comment
As per the Police statements, neither Akshay nor any member of his family were in the vehicle involved in the accident. Only members of his security were reportedly in the car at the time of the accident. The reports state that the cars were escorting the actor’s wife, Twinkle Khanna home from the airport after an overseas trip. Both Akshay and Twinkle have yet to comment on the incident.
