PUNE: Renowned Garbha Sanskar coach Dr. Vishnu Mane emphasised that the holistic development of children is possible only through training based on five core principles—physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and techno-educational development.He was speaking as the chief guest at the Sanskar–Samvad Festival organized by Geetai Humankind Development Trust, Pune, on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Rashtramata Jijau and Swami Vivekananda.On occasion, the ‘Our Mini Gurukul’ was also formally inaugurated by the dignitaries.International Yoga Guru Dr. Samprasad Vinod, pioneer of Indian agri-tourism Pandurang Taware, and education expert and scholar of ancient Indian education systems Pundalik Wagh were present as special guests. The program was presided over by Manikrao Babarav Jogdand, Chairman of Karmayogi Babarao Jogdand College of Agriculture.Ram Jogdand, Director of Ramalex Group; Dr. Santosh Jogdand, Trustee of Geetai; Trustee Manorama Jogdand; and Chief Executive Officer Avinash Jogdand were present on occasion.Addressing the gathering Dr Mane stated that women working on par with men are gradually losing focus on motherhood. He stressed that imparting Garbha Sanskar to women would help create a cultured, intelligent, and capable future generation. Planned parenthood combined with Garbha Sanskar, he said, would contribute to building a healthier society. He expressed confidence that through Geetai OMG, skill education along with culture and values would be effectively nurtured.Dr. Samprasad Vinod noted that education is a continuous lifelong process. He observed that while education is imparted today, the ability to derive true knowledge from education is often neglected. Learning, he said, is experience-based, and hence special emphasis should be laid on strengthening the foundation of children. Referring to Swami Vivekananda, he highlighted the importance of instilling self-confidence and awareness of one’s existence among children.Avinash Jogdand explained that the objectives of the Gurukul include value-based personality development, fostering national and social awareness, strengthening democracy, educating citizens about their rights and duties, and redefining patriotism as responsibility. He added that a free, flexible, and joyful Gurukul system has been developed by integrating education, values, experience, and dialogue for the all-round development of children.Pandurang Taware and Pundalik Wagh, in their addresses, stressed that the formation of ideal personalities is rooted in values and education, making the Gurukul system highly relevant. They also emphasized the need to encourage the younger generation to reconnect with agriculture in the coming years.
