Actor and stand-up comedian Vir Das was the latest guest on Farah Khan’s vlog, where the choreographer-director visited his home for a candid chat ahead of the release of his upcoming film Happy Patel. What stood out from the conversation, however, was Farah’s hilarious revelation about Delhi Belly and why Vir’s popular song Jaa Chudail was allegedly cut short.
‘Aamir jal gaya,’ says Farah Khan
While recalling choreographing Jaa Chudail, Farah showered praise on Vir and called him a surprisingly good dancer. She then dropped a bombshell, saying, “It was too good aur Aamir ne woh dekha aur jal ke maare humara gaana aadha kaat diya kyunki uska gaana aane wala tha uske baad,” suggesting that actor-producer Aamir Khan got the song trimmed as his own track followed it in the film.Vir burst out laughing at the claim and added his version of events, saying, “Mujhko bola gaya ki ek pacing issue tha,” to which Farah quipped with a smile, “Zarur!”
‘Farah was very warm and sweet on set’
The actor-comedian also fondly recalled his experience working with Farah, describing her as “very warm and sweet” on set. Sharing an anecdote, Vir said they bonded over peanut butter during the shoot and had a lot of fun. He further revealed that Farah’s blockbuster Om Shanti Om had a strong influence on him while he was working on Happy Patel.
About Happy Patel
Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos is a comedy-thriller directed by Vir Das, who also plays the lead role of an unlikely detective caught in a suspense-filled case with plenty of humour and twists. The film also stars Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh and Sharib Hashmi, with Aamir Khan making a special cameo. The film is slated to release on January 16.
Promotional video briefly steals attention
Meanwhile, a recently released promotional video for the film features Sunil Grover impersonating Aamir Khan so convincingly that even Vir Das gets fooled, leading to a comic situation where the real Aamir is hilariously thrown out of his own office. The clip has added to the buzz around the film ahead of its release.
