
Anand Mahindra has shared a post on microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) welcoming Elon Musk and Tesla in the country. Tesla made its official debut in India today. The EV company launched its first showroom — the Tesla Experience Centre — at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). Mahindra’s post signaled both optimism and competitive spirit in the country’s growing electric vehicle (EV) sector. “Welcome to India, @elonmusk and @Tesla. One of the world’s largest EV opportunities just got more exciting,” Mahinda said in the post. “Competition drives innovation, and there’s plenty of road ahead. Looking forward to seeing you at the charging station,” he further added.Mahindra also shared an 8-year old in his X post, depicting a small conversation between the two. Musk then praised India’s commitment to selling only electric cars by 2023. Responding to his post, Mahindra then wrote “Time you got out here Elon. Tesla Model Y launched in India
Elon Musk’s Tesla has unveiled its premium SUV – Tesla Model Y in India. The EV maker has also revealed prices for its cars, listing the on-road cost of the much-anticipated Model Y starting at Rs 61 lakh. The rear-wheel drive variant will be available at Rs 59.89 lakh while the price of long range rear-wheel drive starts at 67.89 lakhs.As mentioned earlier, Tesla has opened its first showroom in India at Maker Maxity Mall in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), one of Mumbai’s top business areas. The space is called a “Tesla Experience Centre,” where people can see Tesla’s products and technology up close.The showroom has a clean and simple design with a white color theme, matching Tesla’s global style. The walls have lightboxes that display Tesla’s innovations along with visuals inspired by Indian culture, creating a mix of global and local elements.The project was led by Neeta Sharada, the Chief Architect for Tesla’s first showroom in India.
