Filmmaker Rumi Jaffrey recently attended the AajTak’s Mumbai Manthan event, where he talked about ‘Dhurandhar’. He said, “‘Dhurandhar’ is not a propaganda film. I have watched it twice. It is a 3-hour film, and people walk out by then. But ‘Dhurandhar’ keeps people engaged.”

While the movie received massive love from the audience, and it reflected on the box office numbers as well, a section of people disagreed with the politics shown in the movie. They called it a propaganda film, as it hinted towards the ruling government being strong while calling the previous one indecisive.

The film has raked in over Rs 1200 crore at the box office worldwide. It has become the highest-grossing Hindi film ever (released in a single language). The movie has earned Rs 790 crore in India itself. Ranveer Singh plays the role of an Indian spy who infiltrates the terror groups led by Rehman Dakait of the Lyari Town in Pakistan. Akshaye Khanna has essayed the role of Dakait in the movie.Apart from the two, the movie also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, R Madhavan, and Sara Arjun. The supporting cast includes Naveen Kaushik, Danish Pandor, Saumya Tandon, Gaurav Gera, and Naseem Mughal.Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie was released in theaters on December 05, 2025, and is still running in theaters. The part two of the film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on March 19, 2026. It will clash with the Yash starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’.
