South Korean soloist Jin Denim has passed away. He was 29. The news of his demise was made public by his sister, Danbee in a joint statement shared on Instagram. In the post, she revealed that Jin Denim passed away on December 17, 2025, but the family chose to make the announcement public on what would have been his 30th birthday.In her statement, Danbee shared details about his death and the circumstances surrounding his sudden passing. She stated that her brother passed away in an accident and not as per recent allegations that he died by suicide. She wrote, “Hello, this is the younger sister of Jin. On the evening of December 17, 2025, my brother Jin (진정엽) passed away due to an accident. As we were in no position to attend to anything beyond the immediate situation, we held a private funeral attended only by close family members.”Sharing her reason to go public with the news, she added, “However, we felt it was right to share the accurate information with those who loved him and cherished his music, and therefore we would like to make this statement.”Opening up about her brother’s illenss, she wrote, “Jin had been receiving treatment since 2015 for bipolar affective disorder and psychotic symptoms. He was fully aware of his condition and made continuous efforts to manage it through medical treatment and prescribed medication. However, in recent times his symptoms worsened rapidly, reaching a point where it became difficult for the family to manage the situation.Even during his illness, Jin tried to sustain his life through his faith and lived striving to share love and belief with those around him.”“Nevertheless, due to the nature of his condition, impulsive behaviors occurred repeatedly, and these were not the result of his own will. As a result, both of my brother and our family endured a great deal of suffering over a long period of time. We would like to make it clear that the cause of his death was not suicide, but a fatal fall resulting from his medical condition.”“We sincerely than everyone who has loved and supported him.Jin often said during his lifetime, ‘The day I leave will be a joyful day, for I will be going to heaven, so please do not be sad’. In that spirit, although his passing is deeply sorrowful and heartbreaking, out family believes that he has gone to a place of peace. Rather than remembering Jin only through grief, we hope you will remember him for a long time through his music and the warm memories he left behind.”She concluded, “We also hope that you will not carry this sorrow in your hearts for too long. Sincerely, Danbee, his younger sister.”She also shared details regarding his burial, writing, “Jin is laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Anseong, Gyeonggi-do. He is in the lawn area, and I have marked the exact location in the photo for those who would like to know where he is. If you have any difficulty understanding the directions, please feel free to send me a direct message, and I, his younger sister, will be happy to help.”Jin Denim’s final Instagram post showed a photograph of a church following his attendance at mass. He wrote, “At St. Nicholas Cathedral located in Ahyun-dong, I participated in the Eucharistic Mass on September 1st.”The singer released his debut album Dear, Stefi in 2021. While he did not achieve mainstream commercial success, Jin Denim built a dedicated following and performed at several music festivals, including the New Talents Project Festival 2025 in Barcelona.
