Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has officially rewritten box office history in North America. With a total collection of USD 18.57 million as per early hours of Saturday morning , the film has emerged as the second highest-grossing Indian film of all time in the North American circuit, surpassing Prabhas and Deepika Padukone‘s mythological sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD- directed by Nag Aswhin, which previously held the record with USD 18.51 million. The film is now just one spot away from taking the top spot from Prabhas’s Baahubali 2- The Conclusion which has been on the top spot since its release in 2017 with with USD 22 million collection. But with newer releases like Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Prabhas’s The Raja Saab hitting the theaters in the next 5 days- they could slow down Dhurandhar’s pace in the weeks to come. The film opened with a solid $522K on Day 1, followed by a strong weekend trend that saw collections jump to $852K on Day 2 and on Day 3 . But the actual turnaround happening in the second weekend where on Friday it collected USD 930K, Saturday it jumped to USD 1.4 million and on Sunday it collected USD 1.21 million. And on Friday 2nd January- the film collected USD 374K which took its grand total to USD 18.51 million and as per early reports coming in for the Saturday morning shows the film had added another USD 60,000 to its collection which took it beyond Kalki’s collection. And in India as well the film is not slowing down, it 30 days it has collected Rs 759.50 crore and it has already become the highest grossing Hindi film of all time and is curently 5th biggest hit of Indian cinema behind SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR’s RRR. One needs to note that the four top films of Indian Cinema are from the south market and it was their Hindi language collection that catapulted them on the top pf the list, while Dhurandhar has only been released in Hindi. It’s second part which is slated to release on 19th March 2026 will be dubbed into southern languages to tap the market there. At this point Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera and Sara Arjun led film has no plans on slowing down be it India or abroad.
