Several historical landmarks, properties, and automobiles have been created by husbands in honor of their wives. One thing drove their willpower: boundless love for their better halves. Everything else followed. For example, Boldt Castle in New York was built by millionaire hotelier George Boldt as a gift for his wife, Louise. Ashton Memorial in Lancaster, England, was created by industrialist Lord Ashton in memory of his second wife, Jessie. The Bugatti Chiron “Alice,” a custom sports car, was ordered by a man as a gift for his wife, Alice, on Valentine’s Day. The French luxury car “Monica” was led by industrialist Jean Tastevin, who named the brand after his wife, Monique. Something similar happened with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. His wife, Eugenia, has been with him through many ups and downs since the beginning. Jones created a superyacht, Bravo Eugenia, in tribute to his wife, Eugenia “Gene” Jones. Bravo Eugenia was built by Oceanco in 2018. Nuvolari Lenard designed the exteriors, and British design house Reymond Langton Design designed the interiors. It was built in the Netherlands at their Alblasserdam shipyard. The cost of Jerry Jones’ superyacht is estimated at $225 million to $250 million.
Bravo Eugenia was born out of true love for Jerry Jones’ family
“Creating our Bravo Eugenia was a project born out of true love for our family,” Jones told Jill Bobrow of Yachts International magazine in September 2019. “Building and designing her became a family affair on every level of the project. Gene [Eugenia Jones] oversaw the project and guided us through every step of the process, while our entire family, including our children and grandchildren, visited Oceanco on many occasions, contributing to the yacht’s development and helping to shape our dream. With Gene’s supervision, we were personally involved with every aspect of the build, all the way from the keel laying to every design decision to the christening ceremony to her delivery and beyond.”When Bobrow asked Jones what he loved about being at sea, Jones replied, “We love the power and presence of the water, and the natural beauty of the world’s greatest landscapes as a backdrop. It creates an experience that cannot be duplicated in any environment. When you combine an intimate family experience with the majesty of the ocean, you become a part of a magical journey that presents instant memories that last lifetimes for friends and family members of all ages.”For future plans with the superyacht, the $15.5 billion-empire holder said, “To see as much of the world as possible from the perspective of the sea. Bravo Eugenia gives us the flexibility to reach many destinations that touch landscapes and cultures and create unique, lasting family memories and experiences.”
