ROHTAK: In an effort to bridge classroom learning with real-world hospitality operations, 36 students of the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Rohtak undertook an industry-academic visit to Hotel Maharaja Palace, Rohtak, where they received an on-ground orientation to key hotel departments and service standards.The visit was accompanied by senior lecturer Dr Pankaj Singh and Vikas Deshwal, who guided the students through the learning objectives of the programme. On behalf of the host property, General Manager Sangram Singh and Ranjit Singh briefed the group on the hotel’s day-to-day functioning across departments such as front office, food and beverage service, housekeeping, and kitchen operations.Students were introduced to operational workflows, guest-handling practices, quality benchmarks, hygiene protocols, and safety norms—areas increasingly seen as critical to service delivery in the modern hotel industry. The interaction also included a discussion on career pathways in hospitality, with students raising queries and observing back-end coordination in live work settings.IHM Rohtak principal Shambhunath Gautam expressed gratitude to Lakhpat Balhara, Director of Hotel Maharaja Palace, for facilitating the visit and supporting students’ exposure-based learning. The institute said such industry visits are aimed at strengthening students’ professional readiness and practical understanding of hospitality operations.
