Priyanka Chopra has a knack for sharing moments that make people pause. One simple photo, just adult legs next to tiny baby legs, and the internet instantly softened. Her Father’s Day post from 2022, starring Nick Jonas and baby Malti Marie, feels like one of those small family snapshots that somehow carries a whole year inside it.
The little sneakers that stole the scene
Chopra shared the image on Instagram as a first Father’s Day tribute, keeping it sweet and personal. The frame shows Nick and Malti standing side by side in matching white trainers, a simple styling choice that turns into a tiny story. Nick’s shoes read ‘MM’s’ on the left and ‘Dad,’ on the right, while Malti’s mini pair has ‘M’s’ on the back.‘Heads of State’ actress wrote, “Happy 1st Father’s Day my love. To watch you with our little girl is my greatest joy..what an amazing day to come back home… I love you.. here’s to many more,” adding a red heart emoji. Fans reacted like they’d just been handed a warm cup of tea. One commenter wrote, “Just beautiful…The matching shoes are PERFECT.” Another said, “This picture made my day.” Others kept it short and punchy with lines like, “So precious, and those shoes,” and “So adorable.”
The post that echoed a bigger journey
The photo also nudged people back to the couple’s early parenting months. Chopra and Jonas welcomed Malti in January 2022 via surrogate, and their first stretch was anything but easy. Malti spent more than 100 days in the NICU before she came home in May.On Mother’s Day that year, Chopra shared the first photo of Malti and opened up about what those weeks felt like. She wrote, “On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced.” She added, “After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home. Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith.”She also thanked the care teams, writing, “We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home,” and naming Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. Then she landed on a line that still sticks, “Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass. Let’s get it MM! Mommy and Daddy love you.”
