‘Drishyam 2’ director Abhishek Pathak and actress Shivaleeka Oberoi are all set to welcome their first baby. The couple, who got married in a dreamy Goa wedding in February 2023, first met in 2020 while working on ‘Khuda Haafiz’, a film produced by Abhishek and featuring Shivaleeka in the lead role.
Pregnancy announcement
On December 19, the couple announced their pregnancy in the most heartwarming way, through a joint Instagram post. One of the photos shows Shivaleeka looking beautiful in a red outfit, holding tiny baby socks as Abhishek, dressed in black, wraps his arms around her beside a sparkling Christmas tree. In another picture, placed beautifully on the tree, a Christmas ornament reads, “Baby Pathak Arriving 2026,” with the couple’s faces intentionally kept out of the frame.
Sweet caption
Sharing the photos, they announced, “Our love story has found its sweetest verse, a tiny blessing is joining our universe.”
Celebrity reactions
Their post drew plenty of love from their friends in the industry. Rakul Preet Singh was among the first to comment, writing, “Oh wowwww congrats.” Ishita Dutta and Esha Gupta joined in by dropping a series of red heart emojis, while Sharib Hashmi expressed his excitement, saying, “Many many congratulations aap dono ko.”
Shivaleeka’s journey
Shivaleeka Oberoi began her journey in Bollywood as an assistant director before transitioning to acting. She worked on major films like ‘Kick’ and ‘Housefull 3’. Her acting debut came with the romantic thriller ‘Yeh Saali Aashiqui’ in 2019, where she played Mitali “Mitee” Deora opposite Vardhan Puri. Shivaleeka rose to prominence as Nargis in the action-drama ‘Khuda Haafiz’ alongside Vidyut Jammwal. She also reprised the role in ‘Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2: Agni Pariksha’.
