This counselling round is an important step in the admission process for postgraduate medical courses such as MD, MS, DM, M.Ch. and MDS across India’s premier institutes including AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS and SCTIMST. How to check AIIMS INI CET round 1 seat allotment result
Candidates can download and check the AIIMS INI CET round 1 seat allotment result by following the steps given below: :
- Visit the official AIIMS exams portal at aiimsexams.ac.in.
- Navigate to the “Academic Courses” section and select the INI-CET option.
- Look for the link for Round 1 Seat Allotment Result January 2026.
- Enter your roll number, registration ID and password to log in.
- The seat allotment PDF or result page will display your allotted institute and course, if any.
- Download and save this result for future reference.

Steps after seat allotment
Once the result is out, candidates who have been allotted a seat must act within the specified timeline, from December 19 to December 24, 2025. They have two main options:
- Accept the allotted seat and exit further rounds, or
- Accept the allotted seat and choose to participate in Round 2 for a possible upgrade.
To confirm acceptance, candidates must log in to the counselling portal, accept the seat online, pay the required fees if applicable, and report to the allotted institute by the reporting deadline. Failure to accept or report within the given period may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat. When reporting to the college, students must carry original documents such as the INI CET admit card, result printout, MBBS degree certificate, mark sheets, internship completion certificate, photo ID and category certificates (if applicable). The institute will verify these documents before finalising admission.
What comes next in counselling
After Round 1, the counselling process continues with Round 2 of seat allotment. The second round result is scheduled to be released in January 2026, and eligible candidates will again have a limited period to accept and confirm their seats. Candidates who are not allotted a seat in Round 1 or who wish to seek an upgrade can participate in Round 2. Depending on the counselling schedule published by AIIMS, this process may continue for additional rounds including an open round if seats remain vacant.
