Chief Minister Honours Teachers During Guru Purnima Festival
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that quality and employment-focused education is the foundation of a strong nation. He stated that India’s rise as the world’s largest democracy is attributed to its robust education system. He said, referring to the Indian tradition of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, that Bharatiya wisdom illuminated many parts of the world during the era of ancient sages. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Bharat is experiencing a golden era. He added, ‘The Madhya Pradesh government is committed to providing high-quality education and all necessary facilities for a child’s bright future.’
CM Dr. Yadav said that university vice-chancellors are now being addressed as Kulgurus, as a guru leads us from darkness to light. He was speaking at the state-level Guru Purnima Mahotsav held at Government Kamla Nehru Sandipani School. Extending greetings to teachers and students on Guru Purnima, Dr. Yadav said that 369 Sandipani Schools are currently operating in the state, where education is not limited to books but is focused on holistic student development. He announced a Rs. 5 lakh award each to schools in Mhow, Dewas, and Narsinghpur for achieving 100% examination results and excellent academic management.
Free Bicycle Distribution and Teacher Felicitation
Marking the launch of a two-day campaign for free bicycle distribution under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, the Chief Minister distributed bicycles to 50 students symbolically. Students expressed joy by ringing bicycle bells in unison and greeted Dr. Yadav warmly. On the first day of the campaign, 4.3 lakh bicycles were distributed across various districts.
At the Guru Purnima celebration, several distinguished teachers were felicitated by Dr. Yadav with shawls and coconut offerings. They included Shri Manoj Sohni, Shri Devendra Bansal, Dr. S.K. Pal, Shri Manoj Kaushal, Shri Surit Das Banothe, Smt. Shubhangi Namde, Smt. Sarika Sharma, Smt. Vandana Ramchandani, Shri Yogesh Vishnoi, and Smt. Bakhtaur Khan. A short film on Sandipani Schools was also screened during the event.
PM Modi’s Recognition by 27 Nations a Matter of Pride for All Indians
CM Dr. Yadav congratulated Prime Minister Shri Modi for being conferred prestigious civilian honours by the Presidents of Namibia, Brazil, Trinidad & Tobago, and Ghana, stating that he is enhancing India’s prestige globally. He remarked, receiving 27 top international civilian awards is a matter of immense pride for 140 crore Indians.
International Awards for Sandipani Scho ols in Jhabua and Ratlam
The Chief Minister shared that Sandipani Schools in Jhabua and Ratlam have received international awards. The state is now providing government-run buses for student transport, while bicycles are being distributed to eligible children, symbolising self-reliance and promoting health. The state government will also provide school uniforms from the next session, and around 1 lakh laptops will be distributed to meritorious students scoring over 75% marks. Electric scooters will also be given to deserving students.
IIT Satellite Center to Begin in Ujjain
CM Dr. Yadav announced that an IIT Satellite Centre will soon be established in Ujjain to promote job-oriented education aligned with the New Education Policy, which is already being implemented in 55 PM Excellence Colleges. He also spoke of innovations in medical education and healthcare, with the merger of both departments. As a result, the state will soon have 10,000 MBBS seats, and it is the only state providing comprehensive support for medical education post-NEET. He urged students to not only aim for jobs but become job creators, especially doctors who wish to open hospitals in small towns—for which a 40% subsidy is being provided.
Raksha Bandhan Gift for 1.27 Crore Ladli Behnas
CM Dr. Yadav said that in the Sanatan culture, women are worshipped as goddesses. On Raksha Bandhan, Rs. 1,500 will be transferred to 1.27 crore Ladli Behnas. Under PM Modi’s leadership, 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies will be implemented by 2029.
Student Presents Handmade Portrait to Chief Minister
CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated the newly constructed Government Kamla Nehru Sandipani Girls School, built at the cost of Rs. 36 crore. He was welcomed with a band performance by students and initiated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and garlanding the idol of Goddess Saraswati. Student Santoshi Sahu presented him with a handmade portrait, while Kumari Deepti Uike offered a soulful Guruvandana performance.
Chief Minister Realising Students’Dreams: Education Minister
School Education and Transport Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh praised Guru Purnima as a day of expressing gratitude to our gurus. He emphasised that teachers play the most pivotal role in shaping children’s lives and urged students to walk the path shown by their teachers. He commended Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for realizing the dreams of children and envisioning modern Sandipani schools. The naming of schools after Maharshi Sandipani reflects values and cultural identity. These schools are equipped with all necessary facilities, promoting employment-oriented learning under the New Education Policy.
The bicycle distribution campaign was formally launched today, and textbooks and uniforms have already been distributed. Laptops and scooters are also being given to students. The event was attended by MLA Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani, Mayor Smt. Malti Rai and Shri Ravindra Yati along with a large number of teachers and students.
