The ruling, issued following Advertisement No. 02/2024, resets the selection cycle for all 7,113 candidates who had cleared the Preliminary Examination.According to the Court’s order, the conduct of the Main Exam showed discrepancies significant enough to undermine confidence in the fairness of the assessment. The Bench stated unequivocally that cancellation was essential “to ensure fairness in the examination process,” making clear that procedural lapses cannot be allowed to taint public recruitment.The Court has directed that the Main Written Examination be conducted afresh on 7 December 2025 (Sunday) for all candidates who qualified the Preliminary Examination held on 4 May 2025, as per Notice No. 9231 dated 16 May 2025. The retest will be held in three sittings, with a compressed schedule that places English, General Awareness with Reasoning, and Mathematics back-to-back on the same day.The cancellation marks one of the strongest judicial actions in recent years against outsourced exam-conducting agencies, sharpening scrutiny on an industry repeatedly flagged for irregularities across multiple states. The ruling is expected to push recruitment bodies toward tighter audit mechanisms and higher accountability thresholds.For the 7,113 aspirants, the order brings a renewed test of endurance.
