Madhur Bhandarkar voiced his disappointment over the media’s excessive coverage outside Dharmendra’s residence, urging journalists to be more considerate and respectful. The filmmaker’s remarks came after numerous reporters gathered at the Deol family’s home in Juhu following the legendary actor’s hospital stay. Dharmendra was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday and safely returned home.
Filmmaker’s message on social media
The filmmaker shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing the need for the media to respect the Deol family’s privacy. He stated, “It’s high time for the media to respect the Deol family’s personal privacy. Let’s offer them the peaceful space they truly need, especially during challenging times.”
Support from Karan Johar and Ameesha Patel
Karan Johar and Ameesha Patel have also voiced their frustration over the media’s invasive actions during this sensitive period.
Sunny Deol confronts media outside the residence
Sunny Deol showed his frustration towards the paparazzi and media stationed outside the home earlier in the day. Before this, a video from inside Dharmendra’s residence surfaced online, capturing the ailing actor resting on a bed with his family around him, including his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol. The footage also revealed Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, visibly distressed and crying, which quickly spread across social media platforms.
False death reports condemned by family
On November 11, some media wrongly said that Dharmendra had died. Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol spoke out against these false news reports. The 89-year-old actor was admitted to the hospital more than a week ago because he was having trouble breathing and has been under medical care since then.
Dharmendra’s upcoming project
Meanwhile, on the work front, Dharmendra will be seen in Sriram Raghavan‘s upcoming film ‘Ikkis’.
