The consumption of large portions of red and processed meats, leads to an increased chance of developing fatty liver disease, and liver fibrosis. Multiple Research studies demonstrate that consuming these meats regularly disrupts gut bacteria, while triggering inflammation which hinders liver operation and recovery. The substitution of processed meats with beans and lentils, resulted in decreased fatty liver disease risk.
It should be noted that the occasional consumption of these foods will not harm your liver, but regular consumption will increase your risk of liver damage. Your liver will remain healthy throughout the years, when you avoid consuming too much sugar, processed meats, fried foods, alcohol and white flour products.
